Singapore an island driven by hypocrisy and ignorance

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Singapore has a constitution replete with every single human right you can think of, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of the press and the rule of law. Yet the island has none of these. It is an island run by Lee Kuan Yew and his family since 1959. It is the height of hypocrisy for them to continue claiming it to be one. In fact the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore is a worthless piece of paper.

The courts and judges claim to exercise the rule of law as required by the Constitution. Yet the judges are hypocrites, pretending to exercise the law but truly are nothing but agents of the Lee family to keep them in power and I might add, help themselves to a lavish lifestyle.

And then you have the masses who have no idea what all this means. Since they have never been taught what rights they have, they continue in ignorance as the Lee family continues their one party totalitarian oligarchy.

Singapore is none other than a tiny island where the Lee family, who are enabled to do anything they want over the tiny island which they control and there is no one to question it. You can only be safe as long as you remain quiet, be a toady and as long as the Lee family tolerates you, as simple as that. If you have any pride in yourself, you will quickly get out as thousands do.

It would have been honest for the regime to openly admit that they are not interested in any fancy ideas of Constitutional government and would prefer to simply do whatever they want. But as this sort of an admission may not go down well in international circles, they are compelled to continue the pretence of a Constitutional democracy when it is simply not.

This sort of a situation is dangerously imbalanced, not a situation which local intelligent people would be prepared to accept as shown by the increasing numbers leaving for settlement abroad from an already tiny population of just 2.5 million native born citizens, the birth rate continues to drop and the large older generation are very quickly dying out.

As for the international community, it is becoming increasingly evident to them that Singapore is not what it claims to be and is nothing more than a dictatorship. The island may linger for a bit more but with Lee's fast approaching death, the wrecking ball would have finally hit squarely and with deadly force on the tiny island state which claims to be something it is not.
