Singapore. How Lee Kuan Yew family maintain their iron grip over Singaporeans

Ladies and Gentlemen,

For anyone to think that Singapore is a Parliamentary Constitutional democracy with elections every 5 years with people electing their representatives to speak for them, is completely mistaken. Power does not lie in Singapore's Parliament. It lies with the Lee Kuan Yew family, meaning the father and his son, the Prime Minister.

Lee Kuan Yew wields absolute dictatorial powers over his citizens through his control of the following organs of state.

First, Lee Kuan Yew has absolute control over the courts. His judges are completely at his service, willing to do anything for him. Therefore he uses the law courts to illegally punish his critics, anytime he wants.

And as long as the people are aware that he has these powers, effectively silences them from ever criticizing his rule, because you never know when you may be hauled to court and finished off.

A long list of his political opponents have been destroyed in this manner. Lim Chin Siong, Chia Thye Poh, JB Jeyaretnam and more recently Chee Soon Juan have all been unjustly punished by his corrupt judges who willingly and routinely bend the law to please him.

This jailing, bankrupting and ruining of conscientious and loyal citizens sends a chill down the spine of every single one, preventing them from ever challenging the authority of Lee.

Second, Lee controls the media, which is completely under him. As such, he can bend the news and effectively tarnish the name of anyone he wants through, thereby effectively eliminating his opposition. It is true, there is the Internet now, but the Internet does not usually report on local news.

Third, he effectively violates the Constitution and criminalizes fundamental human rights such as freedom of speech and assembly. This means his ability to violate any one's rights and do anything to anyone he wants with impunity, since if you publicly protest, you will be arrested.

Remember even peaceful protests are illegal.

Today, there is Hong Lim Park, a secluded park, out of the way of the masses, where you are allowed to protest, which by the way is useless and totally ineffective because no one is going to hear you or see you.

What you have to do is to protest at Raffles Place or Orchard Road but Lee Kuan Yew cleverly makes it illegal to do that.

If any political leader anywhere has awesome powers such as these, he should be able to rule forever. And that is why the Lee family has been in absolute power these last 52 years with no problem at all.

I have mentioned Singapore has a Parliament but it is completely powerless. Members of Parliament can say anything they want, but Lee Kuan Yew wields absolute power through the collaboration of his corrupt judges who are ever willing to do anything he wants to anyone anytime.

For example this blog post that I am writing could never be written from within Singapore, simply because I will be arrested the next minute and thrown in jail, fired from my job, my family harassed and punished, and I would thrown literally into oblivion.

This unfortunately is what Singapore is today; totally under Lee Kuan Yew and his son's powerful grip.

Every Singaporean as well as the so called opposition politicians know this. But because Singaporeans have been so long living in fear of Lee Kuan Yew and his family, they are today completely incapable of articulating their discontent openly, because are overcome with fear, they would be arrested and thrown in jail by false charges through Lee Kuan Yew's corrupt judges.

So they pretend to make some noises of discontent about some issues that face the country, such as immigration and the lack of jobs. But no one, not even their opposition politicians dares to ever openly criticise these corrupt dishonest judges because they know that the judges are Lee Kuan Yew's main weapon to polish them off. Criticizing Singapore's judges would absolutely attract Lee Kuan Yew's wrath even though we all know they are corrupt and misuse the law at will; because it is like touching Lee Kuan Yew's raw nerve, his passport to stay in power.

A better way to put is is to describe Lee Kuan Yew's judges as dogs, of the pit bull type. If you criticize Lee Kuan Yew in a way he does not like, or if you criticize these dogs, he will let them loose and you become dead meat the next minute.

One other way good way to draw the comparison is with Hitler's Nazi judges. Criticizing him will cause you to end up before a Nazi judge. The next minute you will be history.

Please don't forget Alan Shadrake who is inside a Singapore jail now as we speak. He made the mistake of criticizing these judges for their bias and their abuse of the law. He was promptly thrown in jail and another message has been sent to Singaporeans warning them of the dangers of ever criticizing them.

Similarly they know that the lack of a free press, the lack of the right to free speech, expression and assembly effectively enslaves them and that is the most effective tool for Lee in his repression over his people. That is why neither Singaporeans nor their so called opposition leaders ever dares to openly challenge Lee Kuan Yew nor his government and demand a free press or protest about anything, because doing so will land them in jail or bankrupt, thanks to Lee's judges.

So as long as the people of Singapore and their political leaders remain in fear of ever demanding these rights, that is, a right to the rule of law, a right to a free and independent judiciary, a right to a free and independent press, the right to free speech expression and assembly, they will forever remain at the complete mercy of Lee Kuan Yew and his family. They are not a free people, but one that lives at Lee Kuan Yew's pleasure.

Singaporeans have to remember that Lee Kuan Yew is not going to let you have these rights simply because you ask for it. If you want to get any of this, you have to protest and show that you are prepared to die for your rights and will not let up until you have got it.

But as long as Singaporeans as a people and their political leaders such as Chee Soon Juan, Low Thia Khiang, Chiam See Tong and the other gentlemen who surround and support them, continue unwilling to demand these primary rights fundamental to any other democratic demand, Singaporeans and their these leaders will continue to be ruled over by Lee Kuan Yew absolutely, leaving them no better than slaves.

There is really no point in today's minuscule opposition politicians going out there and talking about Singapore's flooding, massive immigration, unemployment or anything else. Remember it is Lee Kuan Yew's country, not yours. You are allowed to talk about anything you want. But if you tried to pick on his judges who you know are corrupt, if you try to pick on his control over the media or his right to jail you if you spoke in public, you are in for a serious trouble.

That is when Lee Kuan Yew and his son will come at you like a pit bull and finish you off.

Lee did not make a mistake some 50 years ago when he called Singaporeans "digits". He really meant it. You are indeed one today, no better than a mere digit. And you should be ashamed.

Let me tell you this very clearly. As long as Lee Kuan Yew has these corrupt judges who can make a saint a serial killer the next minute at the click of his finger (remember the late JB Jeyaretnam), you are all doomed to a life of being nothing better than slaves, which you are.

I am not sure if you saw it but I did. This recent elections, Lee Kuan Yew's PAP appeared to look worried that they may lose some constituencies and they even made several statements proclaiming their fear. In fact, I could see that they were not afraid at all. I could see it in their faces. It was all make believe. They were just pretending to be afraid of this to give the impression to the world that these were free and fair elections. In fact the elections did not matter one bit. Who won or who lost did not matter at all. As along as the Singapore's judges and the press are under their control, and as long as the people are not allowed to protest, they will continue with their absolute control over their citizens. They know it and we know it.

Shame on you Singaporeans. Shame on you opposition politicians and every other person in the island who calls themselves opposition leaders, shame on you. You are simply sitting idly by permitting Lee Kuan Yew and Sons rule over you.

Please don't deceive yourself by thinking you are opposition leaders. With leaders like you, who needs dictators.

Looking at Singapore, it will continue limping under the iron grip of the Lee Kuan Yew family. You may have your jobs, a TV at home and some time with your family at Changi beach on the weekends but remember, Big Brother is watching you and make sure you tow the line, otherwise the clanger.

This blog post may not have persuaded anyone in Singapore from either challenging Lee Kuan Yew and you will probably continue another 100 years blissfully under Lee Kuan Yew's absolute rule, if that is what you want.

But remember, this blog post is being read by Singaporeans throughout Singapore today and it will also be read a 100 years from now. But sooner or later, you will be able to judge whether what I say today had made any sense.

Poor Gopalan. Forever ranting on and on about LKY and grinding his axe even when there's no blade left to be seen. You're so, so disillusioned, my friend. You think the opposition, who are working on the ground, are useless. What makes you think an ordinary blog like yours, will connect the minds of Singaporeans and bring change in their hearts?

To Anonymous Jun 11, 0540,
I guess another Singapore government cyber brigade member discrediting his master's critics anonymously. I should not be putting it up, but I will.
Firstly it is not poor Gopalan but poor you, for having to hide who you are. Who are you? Ranting? I don't think so. If I am why do you bother writing to this blog? No Blade? Very big blade sticking right up; the Singapore dictatorship. Big axe to grind. Yes I do think the oppositition in Singapore are not doing what they should be doing. I don't know what is an ordinary blog and and an extraordinary blog, but I can assure you Singapore Dissident is having an impact on Singpaoreans. Not only in Singapore but around the world. The statistics show no less than 170,000 reviews in Singapore alone this last year. If you add the world over it is more than a million. Moreover if it was otherwise you won't be taking the trouble to write to me hiding your identity in fear. Becasue you fear the damagin effect it has on Singapore's image locally and abroad, you write.

I do feel sad for you because L.K.Y is a big thorn in your flesh which is causing you so much physical and mental pain and suffering. Believe me when I say I understand how you feel. There are others out there who don't, the reason is simply because they have not personally encountered the wrath and vengeance of L.K.Y. Remember you are not alone with this grief and malice against K.K.Y for all the wicked and injustice deeds done to them.
They suffer in silence but not you.
Your postings on your blog seeks to expose to the world the P.A.P and L.K.Y dictatorial regime and at the same time to seek justice and compensation for your sufferings sustained. This is O.K. This is normal. I am happy for you to have this outlet that keeps your sanity and mine too. So don't ever give up writing as long as you can because I enjoy reading your posts which are inspiring and makes a lot of sense. Some readers don't comprehend what you are saying and make negative discouraging remarks. You should ignore them. If they are not for you then they are against you. Remember there are people out here in support of you. You are not alone. Thanks again.
