The problems of Lee Kuan Yew's son minus his father

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It was only a few days ago that his father died, but Lee Kuan Yew's son is already facing increasing dissent. Just after Lee Kuan Yew's death, even while a huge portion of Singaporeans both ignorant and both opportunistic were swooning over backwards in apparent grief, like when Kim Jong Il of North Korea died, or so it seems, out comes a 16 year old Amos Yee, who had chosen the opportune moment not only to insult him but tell him exactly what he was, nothing short of a horrible dictator.

You can see the video Lee Kuan Yew is finally dead here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TZPdM3xn24

They have arrested the boy and in classic Nazi style mob mentality or rather stupidity, outraged Singaporeans want to have a piece of his head and one even asking that his penis be cut and shoved into his mouth, classic SS Nazi style reaction.

That was not all. On the Saturday of the same week, 2 protesters aged 24 and 25 demonstrated outside Lee Kuan Yew's son's palace holding up placards reading "Injustice" and "You cannot silence us". That's all that they did. They did not commit serial murder.

But in Lee Kuan Yew's Singapore now run by his son, a very insecure and paranoid tiny island, even that is punishable by imprisonment.

The police in their Nazi style efficiency arrived within a minute in riot gear and truncheons as if they had just discovered Osama bin Laden, and ordered them to disperse. In an unusual show of courage in an island where the average man is silenced by fear, the 2 refused to budge and immediately were arrested and whisked away to be tortured. You can see the article here Asian Correspondent April 05, 2015 http://asiancorrespondent.com/131901/arrest-two-peaceful-protesters-questions-freedom-of-assembly-singapore/

As of now no one knows what has happened to them.

One can expect even more protests looming in the horizon. And as these protests increase in frequency, Lee Kuan Yew's son would have no choice but to use increasingly harsh techniques to silence them only to face even more and more protests in response. The cycle of resistance and punishment I believe has only just begun.

I think it was Winston Churchill who said "Dictators ride to and for on tigers from which they dare not dismount. And the tigers are getting hungry".

And that is exactly what the problem that Lee Kuan Yew's son faces today. His government is clearly illegal and unsustainable. Firstly there is rampant corruption on an industrial scale by him and his ministers and family. It is $3.7 million each exactly officially and much more secretly.

The CPF Retirement Funds which is flush with money are secret and no one knows the exact figure in them while these CPF funds are freely paid into the wealth funds Temesek and GIC without any accountability and in total secrecy.

Moreover these moneys are paid over to the island's wealth funds of Temesek Holdings run by the son's wife and GIC run by the son himself.

As both these fund accounts are secret no one knows exactly how many billions have been siphoned off by these crooks, comprising the son, his wife, several of their family members and his cronies and minions, not to mention the huge amounts siphoned off by his father over the 50 years in power.

As anyone who questions them over this will be sued before his Kangaroo Courts and bankrupted as the recent case of Roy Ngerng has shown, the very fact that he sues each time someone questions him raises serious suspicions over his silence. For only a thief would want to silence you, not an honest man.

Lee Kuan Yew's son the Prime Minister who was placed in the position by his father, whom most Singaporeans consider corrupt and have no respect for him whatsoever.

Moreover Singaporeans are clear they are living as slaves. The Singaporean today is a sophisticated educated citizen and thanks to the Internet and writings such as mine, is fully aware of his Constitutional rights and the fact that this government is unlawfully denying them their rights. You have the freedom of speech, expression assembly the right to a free press, the right to free and fair elections and the right to the rule of law all of which are denied him.

If he has not stood up against this regime, it is only because he is afraid of what Lee Kuan Yew and his minions in the police and the Kangaroo courts would do to him. But Lee Kuan Yew is now dead.

This explains why despite their anger toward the regime for making them slaves, fear has held them back while Lee Kuan Yew himself was alive the past 50 years of Singapore's history.

Now since the dictator is finally dead, to use young Amos Yee's words, the people have recovered some of their lost courage and you are beginning to see the ripples of open dissent simmering under the surface only waiting to erupt.

And erupt it has. We have seen Amos Yee and the 2 Istana protesters, not much for a start but I have no doubt it is the beginning.

With an increasingly sophisticated electorate, a well travelled electorate especially to Australia and New Zealand both free countries, they can see that these minions who work for Lee Kuan Yew's son are mere handpicked loyalists who willingly appear to serve only for the money, as they also each get $3.7 millions a year.

None of these running dogs as the Communists called the West's sympathizers in history of the Communist uprising has any respect among the population.

They sprout out from nowhere and are immediately published in the state controlled newspapers as Minister of this or that department and requiring the citizen to prostrate before him the very next minute.

Selecting ministers in this way may have been practiced by the Ming Emperor of Imperial China but surely the people of Singapore cannot be expected to listen to these characters. That is why all these Ministers including Lee Kuan Yew's son find themselves total misfits in a so called first world island trying to rule their sophisticated citizens. What happens as a result is that the people simply ignore them and all they do it to put out their edicts in the state controlled press on a daily basis which are of course totally ignored.

Then you have the police force whom Singaporeans consider no better than attack dogs carrying out the orders of Lee Kuan Yew's son. The people have no respect in these men who do their work entirely by spreading terror in the minds of the citizens.

You can see that this government of Lee Kuan Yew's son minus his father has simply lost it's credibility. His son is considered by all Singaporeans to be Prime Minister only by virtue of his sole qualification, being the son of his father. Otherwise they know with his limited qualities, he would be pushing some paper in some bank along Battery Road Singapore for a living.

The problem that this discredited government faces is not only from critics like us but from the very introduction of the Internet.

Today it is not possible for this government to hide the fact of any arrest, any transgression, any underhand tactics because the Internet with blogs like the Real Singapore and the Temesek Review armed with video cameras and citizen journalists would expose them the next minute.

As Chee Soon Juan, the arch critic of this government once told Goh Chock Tong a Lee loyalist "you can run but you cannot hide" Singaporeans can say the same to Lee Kuan Yew's son because they have the Internet.

In a few days we will see another incident of public protest, that is certain. And the their frequency will increase, that is also certain. And the arrests and punishments would also increase, that too is certain. And no tiny island has managed to survive by intimidating and terrorizing their equally tiny population.

Singaporeans can be sure that there is going to be a new beginning. And it is not coming through the elections as this avenue is already being considered for manipulation and rigged elections by this discredited administration. Change will come and it will be through pubic protests.

And if anyone is wondering why I can write this without being arrested, I am writing this from Fremont California USA and they are uncertain of success if they sued me here, minus the Kangaroo Courts.

According to Teo Soh Lung, Amos Yee, the 16 year old boy who made the video, was handcuffed before being led out of his house during the police arrest. This is simply unacceptable police intimidation in a civilized society.

*Ms Teo Soh Lung graduated from the University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons) in 1973 and served her pupillage under the late David Marshall. In 1981, she set up her own law firm in Aljunied. In 1985, she co-founded the Law Society Criminal Legal Aid Scheme which offers free legal assistance for criminal cases to the poor and needy members of the public. Ms Teo was previously arrested and detained without trial under the ISA in Singapore.

To Anonymous about Amos Yee and Teo Soh Lung, Yes I know Teo soh Lung. I practiced law in Singapore, my country of birth from 1980 to 1991. It is nice that you and Teo Soh Lung mentioning Amos Yee being handcuffed. Not nice at all. But let me ask you, why are you telling me this under a cloak of anonymity. Why are you so afraid, but yet you want to write to me Gopalan Nair under false pretenses. Not very nice at all. In fact cowardly, because only a coward is afraid to say who he is. Teo Soh Lung by the way unlike you at least has the courage to say who she is. I would urge Teo Soh Lung to go one step further and demonstrate outside Police headquarters on the injustice. Amos Yee is not one of your standard Singaporean. Like any normal person in the West.

Amos Yee may not use the most tactful language, but it's absurd and unjust that he should be arrested for openly saying something that many thousands of people are thinking.

The 16 year old Amos Yee is now behind the bar due to bail. Can he seek asylum in another country? Is there a UN child protection organization that can help? What are his option in your professional opinion?
