Ladies and Gentlemen,
Singaporeans in this elections are in the unenviable position of being between a hard rock and a hard place, thanks to Lee's 52 years of successfully repressing their people.
Which leaves the people in the position they are today, between a heartless and uncaring dictatorship of the Lee Kaun Yew family on the one hand and a totally inept opposition except for a handful of good men such as Chee Soon Juan who sadly cannot run at all.
It is not true that Singapore does not have capable people to lead, yes they do. But the problem is that anyone who is discerning and able is overcome with fear of the consequences of taking a stand about anything, leaving them entirely unseen and unavailable; thanks to Lee Kuan Yew. Here we are of course talking about university professors, teachers, professionals and others, all refusing to come forward due to all pervasive fear that blankets that small island run by the Lee family.
As for the government political hopefuls, every one of them is an opportunist looking forward to the millions that they stand to gain, which is why even the government is finding their candidates much to be desired, which proves that many able people in Singapore also have a conscience and are refusing to step forward despite the unimaginably huge rewards.
The end result of this is the general decline in the quality of political candidates across the board, both government and opposition. And as long as the government continues their repressive measures against the people and use their corrupt judges as their principle tool to silence any contrarian opinions, the next election will further see the quality of politicians in the island even further compromised.
A look at the opposition candidates in this election does not instill confidence. The NSP and the other parties appear as if they are contesting elections for the sake of contesting; not with any confidence of ever winning, men and women with no qualites of leadership whatsoever, with whom you would not want to bother even with a passing conversation, let alone making them your leaders!
But the silliness of it all is the view that people could just come out of the blue, stand for elections, point out a litany of perceived wrongs committed by the PAP and then demand you vote for them. And the equally preposterous position of the government that you should vote for them even though it is they who have denied any chance whatsoever throughout the last preceding 5 years of the opposition being able to show themselves, through a state controlled press which shuts them out.
Which leaves the Singaporean voter with the Hobson's choice of bad leadership either by the government or the opposition.
I am not sure whether am I the only person in the world who can see this or is the mind of the Singaporean so successfully corrupted by the Lee Kuan Yew family that he can no longer see that which anyone else outside can see.
Which leaves me to congratulate myself once again of having left Singapore for the sake of my head and the contents therein safe and proportionate. At least it can still think logically which may not have been the case had I still been a resident of Lee Kuan Yew's Ang Mo Kio.

Singapore's opposition political candidates. More to it than meets the eye.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am not one to dampen your spirits and the euphoria for political change but let me tell you my fears. Frankly I don't think there is going to be any real change whether you have 80 opposition seats or 800.
This is what it is. Power lies in the organs of state, not individual members of Parliament. Lee Kuan Yew now controls Singapore, as well as the judiciary, as well as the press, as well as the media, as well as everything, period.
I think Lee Kuan Yew has realised that whether you like it or not, there are going to be some opposition candidates. If so, how else to continue ruling over Singapore by having a few PAP men disguised as opposition candidates. This way, they could not only give the impression of a multi party state; they could still continue their absolute control over Singapore just as they done for the past 40 years!
Let me tell you my suspicions on these people. Look at Tan Jee Say who has suddenly cropped up from the woodwork, the star of the Singapore Democratic Party. A former PAP man all his life and the trusted right hand man of PAP's Cabinet Minister Goh Chock Tong as well as serving in numerous important positions under the PAP. Now suddenly he claims to be a defender of the people's rights! What I want to ask him is this. Did he not realise that everything was wrong under the PAP during all those years when he slavishly licked his master's (Lee Kuan Yew's) boots?
The same goes for the other major discovery of the SDP, Dr. Ang Yong Guan, another British educated erstwhile lackey of the PAP who has suddenly realised that PAP is not so good after all. Where was he during the last 40 years of PAP dictatorial rule, licking his master's boots?
And I understand that all of them are working for the same goals, which is giving Singaporeans more jobs, lowering the cost of living, and making life for everyone better, thank you very much.
But have you forgotten that Singapore today does not have a free press. It does not have an independent judiciary. It does not have the right of freedom of assembly, freedom of expression or any damn freedoms whatsoever. And as long as you don't have any of these freedoms, regardless of who is voted in as an opposition politician and how many are voted in, you will still be Lee Kuan Yew's slaves, completely at his mercy at anytime and anyplace.
And have you noticed that none of these opposition marvels have ever spoken of the need to introduce human rights into Singapore as the Constitution demands. All they want to do is to bring down the cost of living. But what good is a lower cost of living if Lee Kuan Yew can put you in jail the next minute on trumped up charges.
Frankly I have no proof of any of this, but this is what I believe anyway. Each one of these political marvels would enter Parliament and further the political ends of the PAP without rocking the foundations of the dictatorial regime.
That is why, I am not holding my breath on these elections. Indeed I fear that after these former PAP men and women are elected into Parliament, they would themselves kick Chee Soon Juan out because that is, I believe, the ultimate goal of the Lee Kuan Yew regime. Another way to put it is regime change. In Lee Kaun Yew's eyes, an SDP without Chee Soon Juan is a desired goal for the good of the PAP, just as JB Jeyaretnam was ousted out of the Workers Party when he got troublesome.
If I was Chee Soon Juan, I would be more wary of these surprise entrants from the PAP into the opposition. There is more to it than meets the eye.
To Dr. Chee I will say this. I told you so. As for me, I would advocate the need for changing the foundations of state before anything else. Demand an independent judiciary. Demand your rights. And don't stop until you get it. And elections and such things should follow only thereafter.
Dr. Lee Siew Cho once told me that he had many Barisan Socialist members in Lee's Parliament. But no matter what they said or did, nothing happened. This was because Lee Kuan Yew controlled everything, the courts, the police, and everything. That is why Dr. Lee Siew Cho took to the streets. Can anyone blame him?

Singapore's Corrupt Judges, Judge Belinda Ang Saw Ean
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Appended below is another painful example of how the Lee Kuan Yew family of Singapore misuse the law to finish off their political opponents. This time I am referring to how the Singapore Judge Belinda Ang Saw Ean so blatantly misuses the law to punish and destroy the political future of Dr. Chee Soon Juan, today's principle political opponent of the Lee Kuan Yew family dictatorship in Singapore.
I am posting this video which is a damning condemnation of this Singapore judge fully aware of my obligations under the law as a practicing attorney in California as well as a Barrister at Law of England and Wales.
I am sure had I been physically in Singapore now, Lee Kuan Yew would have had me thrown into a Singapore jail for a long time since according to him and his convenient laws, any criticism of him or his judges means being sent to Hades.
But you see, I don't think he would have the guts, just as all other petty tyrants in the world to do anything when it comes to someone who is beyond his clutches, as I am in California. I live in a country based on the rule of law, and that is what his problem is.
If he succeeds in a claim that what I said about Judge Belinda Ang Saw Ean is untrue and I was actuated by malice in doing so, he can succeed even in California and have me disciplined for misconduct.
But as usual I don't think he will do anything, because all his bravado extends only within his small island and not more.
But it will still be interesting to see in the unlikely event, he will do anything in this case. Here is the video. Enjoy.
